Cutting Through the Democrat's Crap
The take-back-the-presidency-at-any-cost Democrats would have Americans believe that the last 8 years have been a living hell. It has not been a living hell for my family & I; has it been a living hell for you & your family? Do you know anyone for whom it has been a living hell? I'm not rich by any economic definition, but I have been able to enjoy the benefits of liberty and happiness in this great country. Why is it that every time I try to go out to eat, all the restaurants are crowded as hell? I thought everybody was suffering and scraping up crumbs back in their about-to-be-foreclosed-on shacks? And there sure is a lot of traffic out there on the roads too - lots of big, fat SUVs chugging along with people like me who don't want to hear anybody try to tell us to instead wear some tiny vehicle like a pair of pants for the sake of whatever. This is America! Drill! ...but I digress.
I have worked very hard as part of a company that has continued to prosper. Its not easy putting one child through college with another one in high school, but with my wife & I both working and diligently saving for retirement we hope to eventually enjoy our "golden years" free from excessive taxation of the very corporate profits and capital gains that the value of our retirement investments are based on! But the Democrats would have Americans believe that everyone has the right to financial success, provided by the government. Their income-redistribution scheme involves transferring wealth to those who refuse to work hard, exercised poor financial judgment or are just plain lazy.
Here is what is really significant about the last 8 years in America: Terrorist-Free since 9/11/01! Even with a traitorous Democratic majority in congress and a viciously anti-administration mainstream media, we have kept the war against islamic terrorists off of our soil and have now prevailed in Iraq. The Obamaniacs fall for the distortion that America has become less secure because of being less less well-liked in the world. BULLoney! Its not about having tea & crumpets with terrorist nations, nor about appeasing the anti-American elements of the European union or the United Nations. Genuinely pro-American leadership knows the truth is that we must STAY STRONG as a nation. We cannot afford to decimate our military infrastructure, emasculate our intelligence efforts, or not to STAY ON OFFENSE in the global war against the islamic evil that would destroy us!
Oh and by the way, the current unemployment rate is still relatively low with respect to comparable stages of the recurring economic cycle. Not to mention that the president doesn't have that much direct control over the economy (unless a socialistic despot gets elected to go with a leftocrat congressional majority).
Sadly, George Bush lacked the strength and articulation to fight back against all the insidious propaganda, to stand up for the righteousness of his doctrine of preemption and the conservative principles of a free-market economy. His approval ratings are in the toilet mostly due to harsh, non-stop maligning by the mainstream media (along with the likes of MoveOn.org) and the mindless ignorance of those absorbing it; but the failure of the Bush administration to fight back has cost them dearly. Nevertheless, the horrendous 9% approval rating of the Democrat-controlled congress remains largely unreported and brushed aside.
Perhaps the biggest untold story is how the Bush tax cuts which the Democrats will repeal the first chance they get, greatly INCREASED the federal government's tax revenues. If the government will just stay out of the way and let free enterprise flow, companies (and their owners) make more money and pay more taxes (please see this article from the Wall Street Journal). The democrats ignore the traditional truths of our tried-and-true capitalist system in deference to their class-warfare pandering which is despicable.
Certainly there is always room for improvement, especially as the partisan bitterness has gridlocked any meaningful progress in the direction of meeting the challenges we face in the 21st century. But the Obama-Biden message is not uplifting, rather it sews the seeds of resentment. The so-called messiah of "change" advocates the same old tired left-wing ideology, and now with the stalest, partisan liberal in the congress as his running mate. Rather than seeking to empower people towards self-improvement, the Democrats promise hand-outs as they seek to divide and conquer. Philosophical influence from America-haters such as Jeremiah Wright and William Ayers makes the thought of an Obama presidency all the more frightening.
For goodness' sake, I pray that Americans will thoughtfully consider the specific issues and policies of the presidential candidates towards an understanding that the John McCain / Sarah Palin ticket is the only ticket to positive reform of government, economic prosperity and national security.
